Plans to turn former Fulwood car garage into SPAR store up for approval

Plans to change a Sharoe Green car garage into a Spar shop looks set to be approved by Preston City Council later this week.

The application will go before the council at a planning meeting, with plans including the demolition of the existing building and a new two-story store being built.

The decision will be made by the planning committee on Thursday 5 August subject to conditions including the retail unit shall not exceed 753sqm and the noise level for the development shall not exceed ten decibels.

30 new jobs will also be created as a result of the development, by the Spar group, as well as retaining ten existing jobs.

Original plans stated that the convenience store will be open from 6am-11pm seven days a week but new conditions state the hours of opening will be limited to Monday to Friday 6:30am-10pm, Saturday 7am-10pm hours, Sunday 8am-10pm hours.

There will be 13 new car parking spaces, two cycle spaces and two disability spaces.
