New Eatery In Plans At Location of Former Tinos Restaurant

A new takeaway could soon open beneath the former Tinos restaurant, a popular Italian spot in Preston.

After more than 20 years of service, Tinos closed its doors last August. Leaving its first-floor venue on Hill Street empty. Now, plans are in motion to transform the lower level into a hot food takeaway with outdoor seating.

The proposal, submitted by Usman Ali, awaits consideration by Preston City Council planners. The project aims to enhance the building’s appearance with new signage and seating areas. Although details about the cuisine and operating hours remain undisclosed.

The conversion’s impact on nearby historic sites, like the Grade II-listed Old Black Bull pub, will be assessed.

Despite the change, the new business pledges to comply with waste disposal regulations. The departure of Tinos marks the end of a beloved Preston tradition, with owners Lynne and Agostino Cianni expressing gratitude to loyal customers and reflecting on cherished memories.
