St David’s Church, on Eldon Street, is set to be demolished to make way for new supported housing. Founded in 1910, the Church has been a popular visit for locals for over 100 years.
Plans to knock down St David’s church and its church hall are in place so they can be replace with supported living homes has been submitted to the Town Hall. The proposal seeks to create 14 individual units for independent living with communal areas, each with their own bathroom.
Included in the proposal are plans to build 11 new car parking spaces within the development, as well as creating employment with one new full-time job available.
Designs in the plans include feature doors to the entrance and communal lounges which will be made of Aluminium. A date has not yet been set to discuss the planning application.
