Construction Starts on 34 Homes in Longton, Preston

“Story Homes confirmed the initiation of groundwork after acquiring land at Reynard Close and securing planning approval from South Ribble Borough Council in July.”

This development, known as Longton Grange, will comprise 34 homes, offering a diverse range from one to six bedrooms.

“Thirty percent of these residences will be allocated as affordable housing, demonstrating the commitment to addressing local housing needs. Additionally, the developer pledges over £50,000 for the enhancement of public open spaces in Longton and contributes £480,000 through the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL).”

Adam Galleymore, Operations Director for Story Homes North West, expressed excitement: “We’re thrilled to kick-start our 34-home project in Longton, a significant step in bolstering local housing provisions, including the introduction of affordable residences.”

He further highlighted the team’s dedication, emphasizing the remarkable progress made since the project’s inception in November 2022, culminating in the purchase and commencement of on-site activities by August 2023.

Story Homes anticipates the initial homes to be available for sale by Spring 2024, marking an exciting phase in this development’s journey.
