Preston Docks is undergoing a transformation with the former Baffito’s restaurant being pulled down earlier this month.
@SwingBridge2 on Twitter noted earlier this week that it was demolition day for the site on Preston Docks, six months after plans were approved for the site to become a care home.
The home is designed for residents with dementia and will have a wellness suite and lounge, quiet rooms, cafes, a hairdressers, a shop and reception area.
The site has been largely dormant since 2020 when a fire broke out and badly damaged the roof, with further attacks sporadically taking place earlier this year.
An investigation was launched after the fire in April with no arrests taking place.
