Preston’s an up-and-coming city and has several exciting developments planned for the future. Several multi-million pound investments have already been made in the Preston Property Market, but here’s what the future could look like…
Preston Market Hall & Cinema Complex
A cinema, restaurant and market complex is expected to change the face of Lancaster Road and the Markets area. The project is expected to be worth £50m and will see an 11-screen cinema, restaurant complex and new car park built in the area around Lancastria House. The old Market Car Park is currently in demolition. It was hoped that the project would be completed by 2020 but Preston City Council have announced that the cinema will now likely be opened during 2021.
Ringway Tower Block Buildings
This development was originally named the Bhailok Court Tower Blocks, but the name was recently dropped. This new development will take place on Pole Street and has been proposed by The Heaton Group. According to plans, the development will feature an £18m investment in a 15-storey building, towering over Ringway. The new tower block would house some 176 new apartments.
UCLan Adelphi Roundabout Plans
The University’s plans to create a space for students on the Adelphi Roundabout is currently ongoing and looks set to be completed in 2021. The £60m project will cover the development of a student centre and civic square will include a new reception area, informal learning spaces and a student wellbeing support centre.
The Caxton Hotel
Towering over Friargate, the City Centre is soon to be invaded by a 9-storey hotel. Several buildings inbetween Corporation Street and Friargate will be demolished in anticipation of the build, which will see 63 bedrooms and a restaurant and bar area.
