The opening date for Fulwood’s new Aldi has been revealed and it’s sooner than you might think.
August 1st has been earmarked as the opening date for Aldi’s newest site near Eastway.
The new branch will be based at Oliver’s Place and be part of a larger development, which will also include a Subway and drive-thru Costa.
30 jobs will be created in the new Aldi store with another 15 in Subway and 18 new jobs at Costa.
The development will occupy 1,800sq metre which is currently under construction. Permission for the development was originally granted in 2015.
Work has been taking place since January on road widening in the area, to accommodate changes for the the retail park.
Lancashire County Council’s streetworks team said the permit for work expires on April 30, and is being carried out by Longridge-based civil engineering firm, William Pye Ltd.
Outline planning permission for the development was granted back in 2015. After years of work by architects Cassidy and Ashton, plans were finally approved in June 2018.
No objections were received.
