Three new blocks of flats planned for car park in Avenham

A car park in Preston city centre could be turned into 3 apartment blocks if recent plans are approved.

A Pay & Display car park on Avenham Street and Syke Street is being eyed up by developers.

The application for the 60,000 sq ft site in Stoneygate, which is currently used as a car park, was sent in by architectural firm David Cox, which are acting as agents on behalf of Pillars. Pillars is currently led by director David Austin.

David Cox Architects claim that 3 blocks of flats could be built on the land. This would include 274 one-bedroom flats and 20 two-bedroom flats.

The blocks would be 8 story’s high and be part of the newly announced Stoneygate Plans.
